Event FAQs

What is the ‘ONE BIG DAY’ event programme?

Our One Big Day programme is a series of annual events hosted by the Motability Scheme. The 2022 programme kicks off with our flagship show, The Big Event which is held over two-days and is our biggest event of the year. This is followed by three regional events known as One Big Days which are taking place in Exeter, Harrogate and Edinburgh this year.

Our events are designed to showcase all elements of the Motability Scheme and raise awareness of what the Scheme offers. More information about the Motability Scheme can be found here:

Where and when are the events taking place?

The Big Event - NEC, Birmingham: Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May 2022

No, you simply just turn up on the day and all our events are free to attend - everyone is welcome!

Can anyone test drive a car at the events?

To take a test drive, you must have a full UK driving licence and have no more than either:

  • 3 (three) penalty points, which may have been accrued for any conviction;

    • 6 (six) penalty points in any one, or combination, of the following conviction categories: Speeding (SP), Construction and Use Offences (CU), Pedestrian Crossing (PC) or Traffic Signs/Directions (TS)

Any penalty points / endorsements over and above those listed above mean you will be unable to complete a test drive as a driver. Any endorsements with a conviction date of more than 5 (five) years’ old will not be counted.

To take a test drive, guests must bring their valid driving licence and sign our test drive declaration form on the day.

Do I need to book test drives in advance?

No, test drives can only be booked on the day of the event by visiting the test drive booking desk.

How can I see what cars will be on display and available to test drive?

Due to ongoing industry wide vehicle supply issues, we are unable to provide an exact list of which cars will be on display and available to test drive until closer to each event.  For each event you can see a list of the manufacturers that will be attending and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles that will be on display. There is also a list of the adaptation convertors and PWS manufacturers attending the events.
